SUNSTONE OFFER TWO TOP PROSPECTS AT NATIONAL SALE

Sunstone Farming will be looking to make its mark at the 2025 National Yearling Sale.

Sunstone’s Courtney Soal will be offering two well bred yearlings at this year’s National Yearling Sale, with her pair made up of a Declarationofpeace colt and a filly by Captain Of All.

Cyrus The Great (Lot 194) is a colt by War Front’s promising young sire son Declarationofpeace, currently one of the Leading First Season Sires in South Africa for 2024-2025. This well related colt is out of the smart racemare Mind Reader, a daughter of Visionaire who won six times, over 1000m, and who ran third in the Listed Golden Loom Handicap. Cyprus The Great, whose first two dams are both stakes placed six time winners, hails from the same family as numerous high-class performers led by champions Almah and Travel North.

Sunstone’s Courtney Soal said of this colt, “Cyrus The Great is the first foal out of the speedy Mind Reader. Cyrus is a powerful pocket rocket with loads of presence. From a super successful winning producing dam line, Cyrus is one you just can’t afford to look past!”

Champion sprinter Captain Of All has enjoyed a great season this year thanks in part to the deeds of his G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic/G2 Wilgerbosdrift Bridget Oppenheimer SA Oaks winning daughter Fiery Pegasus. That son of Captain Al is responsible for The Fighting Fifth (Lot 312), a filly whose three time winning dam, The Fifth Wave, is a half-sister to G2 Ipi Tombe Challenge victress Gimme A Shot. From the family of such champions as Jay Peg and Kochka, The Fighting Fifth sports G1 winning two-year-olds as both her sire, Captain Of All, and broodmare sire, Crusade.

Courtney said of The Fighting Fifth, “The Fighting Fifth is an absolute stunner of a filly on and off the page. She oozes quality, and is the full package!”

These two yearlings can be viewed from Block C at the TBA Complex in Germiston.
