Leading KwaZulu-Natal farm, Bush Hill Stud, will be bringing a large draft of two-year-olds to this month’s August Two Year Old Sale.
Bush Hill’s August consignment is dominated by progeny of their exciting young stallion New Predator, who is responsible for seven of the ten lots offered by Bush Hill at this year’s auction, with other sires represented here being fellow Bush Hill Stud sires Flying The Flag and Willow Magic.
One striking feature of this string is the quality of female line represented, with a number of two-year-olds on offer hailing from world class families.
A prime example is Halberdier (Lot 152), a colt from the first crop of dual G2 winner New Predator. Out of a stakes placed daughter of multiple champion sire Western Winter, Naka Island hails from the same female line as world leading sires Invincible Spirit and Kodiac, as well as the likes of Australian champion, and successful sire Pride Of Dubai, French Oaks heroine Rafha, and Irish champion Chinese White.
New Predator is also represented by an unnamed filly (Lot 86) out of a twice winning daughter of Judpot named Ruler Of The Sky. The latter is from the very same family as US G1 winner Cara Rafaela, dam of US champion and top sire and broodmare sire Bernardini, while Naka Island (Lot 232) is a New Predator filly out of a dual winning daughter of champion Australian sire Exceed And Excel. Naka Island, whose dam is a half-sister to G1 Goodwood Cup runner up Away He Goes, is from the same female line as Epsom classic winners Generous and Imagine, as well as legendary racemare Triptych.
Bush Hill’s string for the 2022 August Sale can be found in Block E at the TBA Complex in Germiston.
