David Southey’s Southford Stud has unleashed a flood of well priced, useful winners at past renewals of the August Two Year Old Sale. Clever Guy, a R60 000 buy from the Southford Stud at 2015 Two Year Old Sale, won the 2017 Gold Rush Sprint and over R600 000 in stakes, while the Southford consigned Super Good, a R75 000 purchase from the 2014 Two Year Old Sale, proved a well above average galloper in Zimbabwe.
Another smart performer sold by Southford at a past Two Year Old Sale was subsequent Kenyan star Happy Times, a R65 000 buy from the 2013 auction.
David will be bringing three lots to the 2022 August Two Year Old Sale, with this trio sired by the G1 winning stallions Admiral Kitten and Red Ray.
Southford’s resident sire Admiral Kitten is represented by Chief Of Staff (Lot 194), a colt out of a three time winning daughter of Silvano, and Silent Power (Lot 206), a filly whose dam is a winning half-sister to two graded stakes winners.
Red Love (Lot 189), is a filly who shares her sire Red Ray with G1 WSB SA Classic winner Red Saxon, and she is out of a mare who won five times up to 1600 metres.
Southford Stud’s string for this month’s August Two Year Old Sale can be found in Block B at the TBA Complex in Germiston.
