VERCINGETORIX TO HIT THE HEIGHTS FOR SYRILLA STUD

Former Equus Champion, and past National Sale graduate, Vercingetorix has strong claims to being the best stallion currently active in South Africa.

The son of six times champion South African sire Silvano ended the 2021-2022 South African season with his progeny banking more than R16.425 million in prize money for the previous season, and Vercingetorix was responsible for no fewer than 14 stakes winners of 21 black type races in 2021-2022.

Vercingetorix, whose flagbearers last season included champion Cousin Casey and fellow G1 winners Alesian Chief, Astrix and Pomp And Power, also hit the headlines in the sales ring. Yearlings by the sensational Vercingetorix made up to R3 000 000 at the National Sale earlier this year, while National Sale yearlings by Vercingetorix averaging an impressive R617 976 in 2022.

Syrilla Stud will be offering a pair of regally bred two-year-olds by the aforementioned Vercingetorix at the 2022 November Two Year Old Sale.

Torix Night (Lot 123) is a colt out of the classy Jet Master mare Be Mine Tonight, a six time winner who ran third in the G3 Acacia Handicap and this well bred colt is from the same family as such international G1 winners as Jan Vermeer and Together to name but two!

Top-class racemare Juxtapose, whose wins included scores in both the G1 SA Fillies Classic and G2 SA Oaks , is represented here by her Vercingetorix son Gallic Ruler (Lot 195), with this colt having a real classic look to him!

Both Syrilla’s two-year-olds for this year’s November Sale can be found in Block B at the TBA Complex in Germiston.
