Winterbach Stud had a wonderful season in 2021-2022. The farm, which is situated just outside of Stellenbosch, foaled and raised a host of turf stars to shine last season including G1 Computaform Sprint winner Master Archie, G3 Umzimkhulu Stakes queen Supreme Quest, and classy sprinter Bereave, to name but a few.

Winterbach are also the breeders of talented sprinter Val D’Orcia, whose five wins last season included a victory in the 2022 G2 Post Merchants, where Val D’Orcia defeated such notable G1 winners as Good Traveller, Eden Roc and Pearl Of Asia.

Winterbach will be offering a Querari half-brother (Lot 141) to Val D’Orcia, already named Captain Barbosa, at this year’s August Two Year Old Sale, and this son of Listed Oaks Trial winner Tuscan Lass looks sure to find favour with buyers!

The farm’s exceptional August Two Year Old Sale draft includes the progeny of such standout stallions as Querari, Rafeef, Silvano and Vercingetorix, which makes this consignment a must-see for all would be buyers.

Other potential highlights here include Savanatrix (Lot 112), a Vercingetorix half-brother to graded stakes winners Olympic Owen and Speedy Suzy, Neerah (Lot 162), a Vercingetorix half-sister to high-class gallopers Invidia and Outlander, Billowing Clouds (Lot 208), a Silvano half-sister to last season’s G1 Cape Guineas winner Double Superlative, and Lightning Glow (Lot 270). The latter is a colt by sire sensation Vercingetorix out of the Jet Master sired G3 Victress Stakes winner Jet Aglow.
