Volmoed Stud’s Inel Bekker is delighted by the draft she will be bringing to this year’s National Yearling Sale.
Inel said of Volmoed’s National Sale consignment, “This truly is in my humble opinion my best draft since we started our farm 4 years ago.”
It is hard to argue with this comment, with the farm’s draft including yearlings sired by all of Hawwaam, Master Of My Fate, One World, Pathfork and Rafeef.
This consignment also includes yearlings from the same family as such high-class performers as Bambina Stripes, Dandy Man, Hinterland, Likeithot, and Star Turn.
Kay Kiwi is offered by Volmoed as Agent, while One World’s Star is offered for sale on behalf of Nicole Nassif-Zackey.
Inel made the following comments about her National Sale string:
Lot 10: One World’s Star f One World -Afrostar
By current sire sensation One World, this filly is out of a three time winning daughter of G2 SA Oaks runner up Star Safari, herself a daughter of champion sire Jallad. Very athletic filly, with a beautiful feminine look about her. Lovely hind quarters.
Lot 66: Lantern Jack c Pathfork -Dark Journey
By the sire of champion Royal Victory, and from the family of this season’s promising two-year-old Spacebound, this colt, a full-brother to G3 Haval Motors South Africa Umzimkhulu Stakes runner Desolate Road, hails from the same family as champions Foveros and Hinterland. A lovely scopy colt with a lot of presence about him. He has a lovely walk.
Lot 92: Obsidian Star f Hawwaam -Eternal Sunshine
By a five time G1 winner and Equus Champion, this filly is a half-sister to two winners including Listed Summer Juvenile Stakes runner up Emblem Of Hope. A classy filly with a great walk and deep girth, strong hind quarter and quality head.
Lot 172: c Rafeef -Little Sparrow
Bred on the same cross as G1 winning sires Master Archie and Thunderstruck, this colt is a half-brother to G2 TAB Colorado King Stakes winner Pure Predator. Lots to love about this colt, classy athletic with a great walk, beautiful hind quarter. Looks like a very speedy, early type.
Lot 176: Earn The Weekend c Master Of My Fate -Lost In Love
By the same sire as this season’s G1 Betway Summer Cup winner Atticus Finch, this colt is a half-brother to recent KwaZulu-Natal Stakes winner Teflon Man and the smart Love In Winter. Lovely son of Master Of My Fate, with a strong frame, good walk and lovely shoulder. Lots to come still.
Lot 211: Knockin’ Boots f Hawwaam -Nicky Noo
By a champion son of Silvano, this filly is out of a Listed Gardenia Stakes winning daughter of high-class broodmare sire Horse Chestnut. This filly has a great turn of foot and has scope to her, quality head and with a fantastic temperament.
Lot 280: Kay Kiwi c Rafeef -Shufoog
By the same sire as G1 winners Aragosta, Master Archie and Thunderstruck, this colt is a half-brother to the useful performer Thisiswhatitmeans. Quality colt, with a lot to come still, beautifully put together with a lovely top line. He should be a speedy type.
Volmoed’s National string can be found in Block A at the TBA Complex in Germiston.
