Rennie Price’s Wicklow Stud will be bringing four well bred two-year-olds to the upcoming August Two Year Old Sale.
Not only is this draft made up of lots sired by such popular and successful sires as Global View, Master Of My Fate, Querari and The United States, Wicklow’s two-year-olds on offer all hail from top-class female lines.
Promising young sire The United States, whose first runners last season were headed by the flying filly Sheela, is represented here by a colt (Lot 96) out of a four time winning half-sister to Ruffian Stakes runner up Fun To Fly. Bred on the same cross which produced the top-class Sheela, this colt’s third dam Ghost Queen rates as a half-sister to G1 Cape Guineas victor Face North.
Well bred Rich Man’s Gold mare Rose Of Tralee, dam of both G2 Al Rashidiya winner Forries Waltz as well as impressive recent winner Forries Forever, has a colt (Lot 142) by boom sire Master Of My Fate on sale, while Mystic Express, a stakes placed winner of four whose dam Lapis Lazuli is a half-sister to dual Horse Of The Year Variety Club, has a filly (Lot 97) by the consistently successful Querari on sale.
Global View, like The United States a son of the legendary stallion Galileo, is another well performed stallion represented in this draft. He is responsible for a filly (Lot 191) from the same female line as such top-class fillies as Balisada, Inchmurrin, Miss Keller and Venus De Milo to name but a few.
