WICKLOW STUD OFFER THE GALILEO FACTOR!

Long time supporters of Bloodstock South Africa sales, the Wicklow Stud will be offering two classy colts at this month’s August Two Year Old Sale.

Interestingly, both Wicklow’s colts were sired by sons of the immortal stallion Galileo, whose 350 plus stakes winners include such outstanding performers as Frankel, Magical, Highland Reel, Found, Minding, New Approach and Churchill to name but a few. Arguably the greatest sire in history, Galileo was responsible for a pair of Oaks winners this year, with daughter Tuesday winning the 2022 G1 Cazoo Oaks and another daughter, Magical Lagoon, landing the same year’s G1 Juddmonte Irish Oaks.

Galileo’s G1 Ranvet Stakes winning son The United States, whose progeny include last season’s smart two-year-olds Khaya’s Hope and Sun Blushed to name but two, is represented in this draft by a colt (Lot 134), whose dam is a daughter of Captain Al and French stakes winner Ingeburg. Further back, this is the same family as top-class sire Inchinor as well as English classic winner Harbour Law, to name but two.

South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2019-2020, Global View is another son of Galileo who made headlines last season thanks to his G3 Track And Ball Derby winning son Decorated. The blue blooded Global View is represented in the Wicklow draft by a colt (Lot 237) whose dam is a full-sister to talented G2 Al Rashidiya winner Forries Waltz. This classically bred colt’s granddam is a half-sister to the stakes winning dam of none other than former G1 Cape Guineas winner Noah From Goa, and this is also the family of Australian star Fawkner.

Wicklow’s two colts can be found in Block A at the TBA Complex in Germiston.
