Wilgerbosdrift, whose alumni in 2022-2023 included the likes of dual Oaks winner None Other, G2 Jonsson Workwear Dingaans hero Union Square, and exciting filly Egyptian Mau, will be offering a draft laden with quality prospects at this year’s August Two Year Old Sale.

One undoubted standout in this draft is Kagura (Lot 57), a colt by sensational young sire Danon Platina. Not only is Kagura a half-brother to Union Square, he is also a half-brother to Parterre, who recent won impressively in Hong Kong.

Aristotle (Lot 113) is another colt sure to attract attention. A son of Union Square’s red hot sire Rafeef, he is out of G1 SA Fillies Classic winner Athina, herself a three-parts sister to the G1 winning Heir Apparent. Rafeef, whose son Outlaw King captured the recent G2 Tabgold Umkhomazi Stakes, is also represented here by Mindanao (Lot 176), a colt out of high-class racemare Folk Dance, herself the dam of the talented Kyomai.

Corrupt (Lot 241) is an Erupt half-brother to G1 SA Derby winner Out Of Your League as well as to G1 SA Derby runner up Zeus, while the beautifully bred colt Matchless (Lot 241) is a Flower Alley full-brother to dual Oaks winner None Other, and this colt’s granddam is champion and Horse Of The Year Ilha Da Vitoria.

Safari Lodge (Lot 246), whose sire Fire Away made such a cracking start with his first two-year-olds in 2022-2023, is a half-sister to G2 Glorious Goodwood Premier Trophy winner Hoedspruit, while Life On The Tides (Lot 200) is a colt from the first crop of Redoute’s Choice’s son Buffalo Bill Cody and he is out of a High Chaparral three-parts sister to champion Igugu.

This draft can be viewed from Blocks F and G at the TBA Complex in Germiston.

Bloodstock South Africa would like to send its condolences to Wilgerbosdrift following the passing of Gail Bulpitt. She was a valued member of their team and will be greatly missed.
