There is plenty to like about the draft that the Winterbach Stud is offering at this year’s Cape Yearling Sale.
Not only does this consignment include yearlings sired by Gimmethegreenlight, Futura, One World, Rafeef, and the exciting young stallion Talk Of The Town, it also offers buyers the chance to buy lots hailing from top-class female lines.
Hendrik Winterbach is confident about his draft on offer, saying “There are some really nice horses in our draft. Some could have got on to the National Yearling Sale. But we decided to take a chance here because last year was such a success. It will be worth it to look at the whole draft, as there is something there for everyone.”
While Hendrik is pleased about his whole Cape Sale draft, he does feel the following lots are potential standouts:
Lot 9) A smart Potala Palace filly. She is a good sized first foal out of a half sister to the Winterbach foaled and reared G1 Computaform Sprint winner Master Archie. She has a super pedigree and has a lovely walk.
Lot 46) She is a scopy Oratorio filly. This filly is a half sister to Certainly- last year’s BSA Cape Yearling Sale Cup winner and her dam herself is a seven time winner.
Lot 94 ) She is a well grown Futura filly half sister to the promising Speeding Bullet . She moves well and looks to be a early performer.
Lot 96) She is a strong Royal Mo filly that moves very well and a lovely size. I think she will be popular. She has a good family to match her looks
Lot 176) A filly by the new kid on the block Talk of The Town . A scopy filly out of an Captain Al mare. She walks well and she is correct. Looking forward to watching the Talk of The Towns run .
Lot 180 ) Happy Days. This is a lovely colt with lots of presence and well bred to boot. By the exciting One World, he is a half-brother to the very useful Look for Hounds .He should be popular.
Lot 100) a Gimmethegreenlight filly that has early,early, early written all over her. Full sister to a three time winner. Strong filly with a great walk and she is correct.
